The UEF T1 Medium Tank, nicknamed the MA12 Striker, is a UEF unit. This is a direct fire unit.
The Striker is a T1 Tank with high HP and equipped with a Gauss Cannon. It is not as quick or maneuverable as other units of its type, but it is less expensive and tougher.
The Striker is a direct combat unit intended to hold its ground against aggressors. It possess superior firing range and initial shot damage to the Mantis, as well as superior HP. It is, however, very slow and often defeated by larger numbers of Mantes. It is also highly susceptible to kiting by Auroras. The Striker is most useful for guarding Lobos, which can do more significant damage at greater range, and as tentative area defense against light attacks.
Vanilla SupCom Description[]
"The Mainstay of the Earth forces, the Striker packs focused firepower and armor into a sturdy shell. Recent upgrades to the Striker's build pattern have it equipped with a standard Gauss Cannon."
Factional Differences[]
The Striker, like most UEF forces, is very durable at the cost of mobility, and possesses middling firepower. Consolidating these units in tight formations is the key for early victories, as stacking their DPS and focusing fire will match the other faction's natural damage advantages, and the Striker's greater health will make these formations very difficult to dismantle.
The Cybran Mantis has less health and initial shot damage, but comparable DPS and much higher mobility. In a 1-on-1, a Striker will defeat a Mantis for a cheaper energy cost, but in chaotic group skirmishes on the battlefield, Mantises will usually win due to their more accurate weapons and superior ability to dodge fire. They also possess a basic engineering suite, giving them a level of utility that the Striker cannot match.
The Aeon Aurora is a much lighter tank than its peers, and will usually crumple to a comparable group of Strikers in a head-on confrontation. However, it possesses a much greater range than the other tanks, along with the ability to hover over water, which allows their commander to control engagements by kiting enemies. Given this attention, the Aurora can soundly defeat the other units in its class. Victory over these units will depend on the skill of the commander controlling them.
The Seraphim Thaam is the closest stat-wise to the Striker, but with the typical Seraphim trade off of less armor for more firepower. They possess slightly higher speed and much higher initial shot damage, although their lower firing rate gives them comparable DPS.
