Even with lack of tracking, this SAM launcher has twice the muzzle velocity of the other SAM launchers. Is this still not enough to justify the use of this SAM launcher? In other words, is this still the worse one?

I actually prefer the Seraphim T3 AA to the SAM launchers, because I find the way it functions provides slightly less overkill. - Keldabe

Fighter cover[]

I wouldn't go so far to say its worthless, but its low rate of fire make it poorly equiped to defend against hordes of smaller units and T2 flak is not effective against strategic bombers. In those situations having air cover is essential. Fortunately Seraphim T2-T3 fighters are very capable. Seraphim T2 flak is excellent for the price but that doesn't mean you should put all your eggs in one basket. Bottom line is Seraphim air defenses are more easily countered alone, be sure to mix them and get some air cover.

It has the same rate of fire as it's aeon counterpart, and all the SAMs have the same reload time, so it's rate of fire is average. However, you're right about it needing air cover because spy planes and ASFs can get through it quite easily since it doesn't track, and you're also right about seraphim air units being capable. I could have sworn at some point Cybran SAMs fired the fastest perhaps before forged alliance came out or one of the patches. I guess I just never noticed they changed it undoubtebly for balancing. Aeon and Seraphim T3 AA have always fired only 2 projectiles per salvo so they still seem to have a long silence between salvos, giving the illusion of a lower firing rate.
