The tech 3 heavy shield generator is the most powerful shield generator available for each faction except for Cybrans.
A T3 shield generator can protect against almost any weapon thrown at it and T3 shields can take a lot of damage before going down. Shields do not protect against air crashes.
Factional differences[]
Every faction's T3 shield generator is in almost every way unique to that faction, with build time, cost, shield power, shield area, and shield rebuild time differing.
Cybrans[]
Cybrans have the ED1 tech 2 shield generator which can be upgraded to ED5 which is near T3 potential. The Cybran ED5 (when fully upgraded) is the worst shield; the ED5 is very expensive, time consuming to upgrade, has a smaller radius than the others and is easy to destroy, though because of its low max shield power, is the fastest to recharge.
Seraphim[]
The Seraphim shield generator is the most powerful shield structure in the game, as they not only have the most shield health, but also the largest shield radius of all the T3 shields. However, they are much more expensive to deploy and maintain than the other faction's shields (excluding the cumulative cost of a Cybran ED5).
Aeon[]
Aeon shields are extremely tough and can take artillery strikes much better than other shields, but have a tiny shield radius.
UEF[]
Finally, the UEF heavy shield generator is useful, and has a large radius, and upgrades from T2 unassisted in less than 60% of the time another faction's would, but is weaker (albeit cheaper) than the Seraphim version.
