The Aeon T3 Strategic Bomber, nicknamed the Shocker, is an Aeon unit.
Factional Differences[]
This bomber is not as sturdy as the UEF version, and it is not as stealthy as the Cybran version, but it is still a very effective unit. Its smart-bombs can change course slightly, making them excellent ACU-killers. Their secondary weapon (decoy flares) is designed to confuse anti-air cruise missiles by emitting more targets to confuse the incoming missiles. The flares have been removed from the game in Forged Alliance, even though they persist in the unit description.
Unlike the other faction's T3 Strategic Bombers, the Aeon's does not have an anti-air weapon, so it is wise to send an escort of fighters or gunships with it on bombing runs.
One major note is that the Shocker has little to no splash damage, but the bomb itself deals a massive amount of damage making it perfect for dealing with experimental units, particularly if you manage to sneak a few past before completion.
